Veteran’s Day is November 11th. While we celebrate this day each year, we wanted to take a moment and reflect on its true meaning and share how you can honor veterans and their families with coupons.
This day marks the anniversary of the end of World War I. It was declared a national holiday on May 13, 1938 as a day dedicated to the cause of world peace known as “Armistice Day.”
Originally November 11th was meant to honor veterans of World War I, but in 1954, after the end of World War II, the word “armistice” was replaced with the word “Veterans,” to honor ALL American veterans of ALL wars.
Presently, November 11th is a day to honor all of the men and women who serve or have served in the US armed forces, whether in wartime or peacetime.
Here at The Coupon Marketplace, we give thanks and show our appreciation to military families locally and overseas by donating our expired and overstock coupons to them each month. This allows them to save money on grocery and personal care items at their local commissary. The coupons we donate range from toiletries, baby items, pet items, and health & beauty items.
Did you know our military families can use expired coupons? They definitely can! Military families can use coupons up to six months after the expiration date at their local commissaries (military base stores).
The Coupon Marketplace started donating expired coupons to military families back in 2019 and we currently help support over 200 military families each month around the world. Each year, we donate over a million coupons, worth more than $1M in savings to active military members and their families.
If you know a military family, locally or overseas, who would like to receive expired coupons or assist in the distribution, please contact us for more information. We would love to help even more military families and spread the savings!
